About

Dr. Max Blumberg is an occupational and environmental medicine specialist who diagnoses and treats work-related and environmentally induced injuries and illnesses. He provides care for patients following traumatic accidents and evaluates exposures to toxic metals, chemicals, infectious agents, and other occupational hazards.

He also has specialized expertise in repetitive strain injuries and performs independent medical evaluations (IMEs) and Qualified Medical Evaluations (QMEs) in California workers’ compensation cases.

Experience

Dr. Blumberg serves as Associate Medical Director of UCSF Occupational Health Services, where he advocates for the health and safety of healthcare workers and leads efforts to prevent workplace injury and illness.

Prior to UCSF, he practiced as a staff physician for the Erie County Department of Health in Buffalo, New York.
